OLD Glossop began their Peak Sports Derbyshire and Cheshire Cricket League season with a 145-run victory against Buxworth.
The visitors had won the toss and put Old Glossop into bat, taking an early wicket when White was caught at cover for a duck to leave the hosts 25-1.
Donnelly was joined by Paul Eyre before departing with the score on 48, LBW to Buggy skipper John Theyer.
However, Eyre and Andy James produced a century stand for the third wicket which ended when James was caught after making 44.
Eyre continued on his merry way though, making 103 - 90 of which came in boundaries - before he was caught at mid-off.
Andy King was the last of the Old Glossop batters to go when he was stumped for 23 as his side reached 214-5 from their 45 overs, just missing out on that elusive final batting point.
Buxworth's reply never got going as they lost early wickets against an Old Glossop attack in which Cooper, Hall and Allsopp took three wickets each.
Only Leatherbarrow (33) of the Buxworth batsmen looked like making any inroads into the Old Glossop total, but it was the home side who wrapped up victory with half the overs remaining.
It was Eyre who completed a memorable day, taking the final wicket to dismiss Buggy for 69 and give Old Glossop 21 points.
