NOMINATIONS can now be made to reward people who have made an outstanding contribution to sport in Derbyshire.

This year’s High Peak Borough Council Annual Sports Awards is taking place with prizes given out to people from all areas of sport.

There is a variety of categories including: Sportsperson of the Year; Junior Disabled Sportsperson of the Year; Community Coach of the Year; Service to Sport Award; and Team of the Year.

The closing date for nominations is August 22.

The winners will go forward to the Derbyshire Sports Awards with the chance of progressing to the East Midlands Sports Awards and then to the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards.
