Under-achieving

20/ 2/2008

ONCE again Gamesley under-achieved on Saturday and are slowly being dragged into a relegation battle after a 3-2 home defeat by second-bottom Rylands.

Returning from a lengthy spell out injured, Michael Dewhurst opened the scoring for the hosts, but Rylands rallied and by the 85th minute they were 3-1 in front.

Gamesley grabbed what turned out to be a late consolation goal when Pete Sidebottom rifled home a penalty after Dewhurst had been upended in the box.

  • GLOSSOP North End under-eights secured an emphatic 6-2 aggregate victory against AFC Stanley last weekend.

Five of the goals were scored by hot-shot Nathan Gould and the sixth came from Locky Gough.

    Gould was named man-of-the-match.
