A soggy weekend

LAST weekend’s play in the Peak Sports Derbyshire and Cheshire League saw numerous cancellations because of waterlogged pitches.
In division one, there was a 47-run defeat for Tintwistle against Hayfield as they were all out for 82 having dismissed their visitors for 129, Martin Harris with 4-27 and Simon Barrow 3-23.
Division two’s entire programme was washed out while division three saw two games played.
Newton were six-wicket winners against Dinting, Brocklehurst taking 6-48 and decimating the Dinting batting order as they were all out for 77.
However, Chapel went down by 48 runs against Dove Holes as they were 45 all out chasing the visitors’ 93 all out.
As for division four, Buxworth dismissed Hazel Grove for 43 having been all out for 103, while Broadbottom compiled 139-7 at Hollingworth where the hosts were skittled for 92.
