Adam’s six appeal floors Dinting

LAST weekend’s matches in the Peak Sports Derbyshire and Cheshire League saw another fine day greet the players as Romiley went top of division one.

Elsewhere, Old Glossop defeated Dinting by 56 runs as Adam Demidh’s 6-15 saw Dinting all out for 143 chasing Old Glossop’s 199 all out in which Matt Woodcock hit 77.

Newton lost by nine wickets at Hayfield where they were dismissed for 79 while Tintwistle ended on 106-7 in reply to Compstall’s 141-7.

In division two, Steve Mee took 5-39 to bowl Buxworth out for 165 in reply to Broadbottom’s 216-9 which had seen Walsh make 57.

Rick Ball’s unbeaten 80 helped leaders Hadfield post 247-7 at Whaley Bridge who ended their reply on 188-7.

Dave Morris took 6-41 and Ian Morris 3-43 as Mellor were all out for 136 chasing Hollingworth’s 161 all out.

Stefan Fielding’s unbeaten 31 was in vain as Mottram were dismissed for 133, four runs short of High Lane’s 137 all out in which Ryan Fitton had taken 6-42.

Chapel went down by five wickets against Buxton having been bowled out for 147, while Charlesworth lost by three wickets against Woodley after being skittled for 104.

Division three brought an eight-wicket victory for Dinting against Old Glossop after they dismissed their visitors for 63.

Newton were all out for 224 in reply to Hayfield’s 234-7, Chapel lost by three wickets after they were dismissed for 102 against Hawk Green, while Tintwistle could only reach 91 chasing Compstall’s 234-7.

Division four saw Broadbottom victorious by three wickets at Buxworth where the home side could only reach 103, Hollingworth won by nine wickets at Mellor after the hosts set 107-7, while Mottram were seven-wicket winners against High Lane after their visitors were all out for 65.

However, Hadfield lost by 28 runs against Whaley Bridge when they were skittled for 65 chasing their visitors’ 93.
