Batters rule

THE recent spell of good weather has seen the wickets firm up in the Peak Sports Derbyshire and Cheshire Cricket League and become more batsmen-friendly.

In division one, Old Glossop finished on 217-9 chasing Compstall’s 225-7 as Jamie Cannon scored 67 and Martin McGrail 31. Rob Adderley had earlier taken 3-51 for Old Glossop.

Glossop 254-5, Denton West 255-5 - DENTON West took four points back along the M67 on Sunday following a game in which Glossop were left to wonder what might have been.
