MBE for mountain rescue man

ZERO visibility and gale force winds have not stopped Ray Davies from saving lives on the Peak for 50 years.
The brave mountain rescuer, even called out on Christmas Day, has been made an MBE.
A founder member of Glossop Mountain Rescue, Ray said: "It is wonderful news and I feel very honoured.
"When you have been taking decisions all your life it's quite a shock when something like this comes out of the blue.
"I was asked if I would like to accept the award after being informed by a letter from the Prime Ministers's office in May.
"I have kept quiet about it ever since."
