Police need you to make a difference

RESIDENTS are being invited to have their say about local policing at a public meeting in Glossop.

Glossop Inspector Stuart Thompson and his team will be hosting the 'Have Your Say' day at Bradbury House to talk to people about their work.

There will also be representatives from the police authority, neighbourhood watch and the special constabulary.

And whether it's to praise the police or put forward your concerns, it's your opportunity to drop in and discuss it with officers face to face.

The event is held annually and is one of five taking place across the High Peak and Derbyshire Dales.

Inspector Tony Dales, of Derbyshire Police, said: "These have been held across the county for the last couple of years and have proved really useful for local people and for us.

"The idea is that it's a drop-in session held in the town centre, so it's easy for people to come in and see us. They can talk to us about anything from what is worrying them, what they think needs to be done and even what is good about the police and we can tell them what our goals for the future are.

"We make a record of everything then take it back and discuss what we can do to improve, so it really does make a difference."

The 'Have Your Say' day takes place at Bradbury House on Market Street, Glossop, on Tuesday, 8 November, and residents can drop in from 10am-3pm.
