Stan socks it to ‘em on new festive show

GLOSSOP celebrity Stan Coram is set to appear on the small screen showing how one Christmas present giver really put their foot in it.

Last year the double leg amputee and diabetic, who organises the Glossop Jazz Festival, received a pair of socks and some chocolates.

Stan, 74, of Robinwood Lodge, Gamesley luckily saw the funny side and went on to receive national coverage about the toe-curling mistake.

And now Stan will be featured in a new television programme about terrible Christmas gifts which starts filming in the next few weeks.

"The production company saw all the publicity in the newspapers last year," said Stan.

"They contacted me and asked if I'd like to be in it. I thought, well it's a change and I've not sought the publicity, it seems to come and find me."

Stan, who recently appeared on Channel M's Hall's Heroes with presenter Stuart Hall, is also planning to donate any fee to Tameside Hospital.

He added: "It's all a bit of a joke.

"I think all this politically correct business is idiotic.

"I've not got any legs, I can't hide it and I don't want to hide it - it's happened, get on with your life and forget about it."
