No bars to kids at friendly pub

PINT-SIZED punters are flocking to the coolest bar in town.

A revolutionary new children's bar was unveiled this weekend at the Junction Inn in Glossop. And after less than a week of being open to the public, business is already booming.

A £30,000 makeover has transformed the bar, formerly a derelict office, into a children's paradise complete with toys, games and tiny tables and chairs.

Youngsters can order at their very own bar, choosing from a bewildering variety of soft drinks, snacks and meals. And the best thing of all - no parents are allowed!

Robert Dolan, landlord of the pub on High Street West, said: "We only opened it on Saturday and everyone thinks it's fantastic.

"The children feel really grown-up because it's their own private bar and we have staff to look after the children, so the parents can relax in the pub knowing their kids are being looked after."

The bar opens out on to a refurbished courtyard so parents can sit outside and keep an eye on their kids if they wish.

The pub is licensed to have children on the premises until 9pm and even has a special buggy park for parents to park their prams.

Robert added: "I don't know any other pubs which have a special bar for children and it's definitely unique in Glossop. We only opened at noon, but by 3pm it was packed and we've already taken a few bookings for children's parties.

"As word spreads and as the summer months come I can only see it improving."
