GLOSSOP North End watch out! A new course of soccer coaching has started in Glossop to find the town's premier players.
But any budding Beckhams hoping to join had better think again - the classes are just for girls.
Fitness instructor Luke Hancher is helping to get the course up and running at Glossop Leisure Centre. He said: "We were running a mixed session but found any girls who turned up only lasted a couple of weeks.
"Football has always been much more associated with boys and it is a very physical sport. Girls starting out might be put off playing with boys so by doing this we're hoping to encourage more to come along and have a go."
Sessions are run on a 'turn up and pay' basis so youngsters can have a go without committing themselves to a full course. Each class is £1.50 and takes place at Glossop Leisure Centre on High Street East every Tuesday from 4.30pm-5.30pm.
