Four lose out in hospital shake-up

ROCHDALE Infirmary, Fairfield Hospital, Hope Hospital and Macclesfield General Hospital will all lose their baby services, health bosses decided today (Friday).
The Joint Committee of Primary Care Trusts have been meeting all day in Manchester to decide which of 10 different options to adopt as the future of maternity and children's services in the region.
By a majority of 7 to 4, the committee decided to adopt Option 1, which will see Greater Manchester's baby services being based at sites at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan, North Manchester General, Royal Bolton, Royal Oldham, St Mary's, Stepping Hill, Wythenshawe and Tameside General.
Neonatal Intensive Care Units will be based at St Mary's, the Royal Oldham and Royal Bolton Hospitals
