Farewell to crash couple

FAMILY and friends paid their respects at the funeral of a Glossop couple who were tragically killed in a car crash.
David and Mary Muir lost their lives when the car they were in hit a railway bridge wall at the corner of Arundel Street and Fauvel Road in Glossop town centre on 20 September.
David, 60, was a retired bus driver while Mary, 67, used to be librarian. Both were tireless fund-raisers for various charities and active members of Glossop’s University of the Third Age.
The funeral service took place at Dukinfield Crematorium last Wednesday, conducted by Monsignor Canon Jonathan Moore, of St Mary’s Church, Glossop assisted by lay reader Allen Standeven.
