Have your say on town spending
by Tom Rowley17/ 9/2008
WHICH services deserve priority when it comes to spending public money is the hot topic dominating the agenda at the next Glossopdale Area Forum.
Is it more important to spend money on parks, affordable housing, reducing crime or cleaning the streets?
High Peak Council and its partners, including Derbyshire County Council, police and firefighters, want people’s opinions.
Forum chairman Councillor George Wharmby — who represents Glossop North and Rural on Derbyshire County Council — said: "We want to know which services you see as most important in Glossopdale.
"This will help us to ensure that we target our spending in response to local needs. So come along and take part in an exercise to identify your top spending priorities."
High Peak Council’s customer services team will be available to provide assistance for queries about any of the council's services and to gather feedback about the delivery and provision of services.
The forum, which runs from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesday, will be held at Glossopdale Community College on Talbot Road.
Residents will be able to speak to councillors from 6.30 pm and towards the end of the evening there will be an open question and answer session on any issues.
Folk wanting to submit a question on any topic before the meeting are invited to e-mail policy@highpeak.gov.uk or telephone 0845 1297777.
