Have your say on mill

GLOSSOP residents are being asked to comment on plans to develop Woods Mill.
Planners say it is a key area close to the town centre and could boost regeneration in the rest of Glossop.
The Woods Mill Interim Planning Statement lays out the High Peak Borough Council’s plans, with advice and design guidance for potential developers.
It was drawn up by consultants following the withdrawal of the Woods Mill Area Action Plan on the advice of Government Office.
While it is not a legally-binding planning document, the statement does reflect current national planning policy guidance and can be used to judge future planning applications. Council bosses say it was needed to prevent unregulated redevelopment of the area.
Planning chief Councillor Linda Baldry said: "We have produced the Interim Planning Statement to ensure the development of an attractive and vibrant mixed-use neighbourhood at the Woods Mill site. The council wants to see a high quality development that reflects the unique setting and provides a range of residential and employment opportunities. Please take a look at the plans and pass on your comments to us."

Representations can be made online, or to the Planning Policy Section at High Peak Borough Council, Municipal Buildings, Glossop, SK13 8AF. The consultation period is until 10 July.
